Aguas is the first film written, scripted and produced by the students of Cine Latino, a program sponsored by CLACE, the Center for Latin American Arts, Science, and Education. The students are from Fairview High School and range from freshmen to senior level. The title of the film 'aguas' means 'water' in Spanish, but also has the double-meaning of ' caution' or 'be careful' in traditional Latin American slang.

Since Hurricane Irene struck, the topic of devastating flooding in Vermont has made national headlines. But this film, narrated by a 16-yr old filmmaker, was presciently completed in July 2011, one month prior to Hurricane Irene. This is an inspiring environmental recovery story about one town's efforts to preserve their bike path after a catastrophic flood. The film illustrates a message for young people who don't have the resources to make BIG changes: you can still make a difference by starting small with your environmental efforts.
